Gotta Bug For Beekeeping?

Join Capital Bees for a full season of hands-on beekeeping focused on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) using natural holistic beekeeping practices.

We offer comprehensive hands-on learning to take you from the sidelines to become a competent and confident beekeeper.

Our program includes:

  • 6 structured classes throughout the season (36+ hours, mostly in the bee yard)
  • additional optional evening or weekend hands-on sessions
  • beekeeping manual and handouts
  • small class size for an intimate experience with the bees and one-on-one instructor attention
  • community building with fellow students
  • tailored instruction
  • ongoing support: in person or by telephone and/or email
  • convenient options to purchase bees + student discounts

Our program is ideal for those wanting to start keeping bees this season or next. This is also a great program for those with some experience but struggling to manage their bees.

Space is limited to 8-12 students per class to ensure a personal experience where we can build on every student’s challenges.

Program Cost: $600

Ask us about special rates for groups (couples/family/friends), farmers, and status First Nations.
We also offer labour exchange or sliding scale prices for un/under-waged.
